Murray River Junctions

Named by the indigenous Yorta Yorta peoples as a place that means ‘meeting of the waters.’ Echuca is the spot where the Goulburn and the Campaspe rivers join the Murray.

Major Flood Levels

EDIT 24th October: As at 9:00am on 24th October 2022, no-one alive has seen water this high at the Echuca Wharf. The only higher level was recorded 152 years ago in 1870.

The Echuca wharf gauge is measured based on the Australian Height Datum (AHD) which assumes sea level is 0 metres.
